Her Future Her Choice (HFHC) is a Point of Progress project that strives to eliminate gender disparities that prevent young women and girls from exercising their sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR). In Malawi, the program delivers comprehensive, rights-based information and services to adolescent girls and young women aged 10 to 24 in Traditional Authorities Chimutu and Malili in Lilongwe.
The program strives to combat negative societal norms, traditional practices, and taboos regarding sexuality as well as giving girls and young women the ability to make decisions about their own health and sexuality. It also addresses the obstacles that impede adolescent girls and women from accessing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. Through OXFAM Malawi, Global Affairs Canada has provided funding for the project's four and a half years.
